Definately the BMW if you love to really DRIVE the car. BMWs are driver's cars, the handling on all the models is second to none. You can really go aggresively into the corners and through mountain roads. The brakes are fantastic also. The seats are supportive so you feel like you are not all over the car as you're going through the turns. The Mercedes seems like it's more for someone who's trying to show off for passengers and onlookers. The interior is plush, but not as supportive and user designed. The ride is nice, and the handling is good, but it's not as responsive, like the car knows where you want to go before you even turn the wheel.

Mercedes CLS is Hot, BMW 6 series is also, I also like the BMW M5 and new 3 series couple. As far as SUVs go, I love the new styling of the 2007 X5 and the Mercedes GL class is also a pretty good SUV, The new CL coupe is about to be release if it hasn't been already and it is beautiful. I have driven a couple of BMW's before and as their previous brand slogan said, They are the ultimate driving machines. Have also driven a Mercedes CLS and its a pretty good car too. BMW's look more aggresive to me. Just my opinion, hope it helps - Dan

Mercedes, However, both cars have german engineering and their ride is not as smooth as a Lexus. i would seriously look at a Lexus instead. Also a side note, Typically people who drive BMWs are inscure and drive aggressively, NOT ALL, but i have found most are aggressive type A personalities and are quite assholes.

If money was not an issue but it still came out of my pocket, I'd pick a Mercedes. I like beemers a lot too but there's certain models (high-end) of Mercedes that are just irresistible.

Of the two, a BMW...M3. Mercedes has nothing to match that performance for that price.

If money were no object I wouldn't buy either of those cars. I would have to test drive cars that I can't now--like Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
