From a legal standpoint you could throw a dart at a map and have a reasonable chance of hitting a country with a homophobic law, usually a fine or a few years in prison, however the worst offenders are as follows

Labour camps

angola
Guinea Bissau
Mozambique
Jamaca (10 years min)

Life imprisonment

Uganda
bangladesh
India (not enforced)
Burma
Pakistan
Singapour
Barbados
Guyana

Death penalty

Nigeria
Somalia
sudan
Chechnya (caning for first and secound offence)
Iran
Saudi arabia
UAE
yemen

Just looking through these countries makes me consider how lucky i am to live in a country where i don't have to worry about being worked to death/hung/stoned or shot, just because of my sexual orientation

Sadly, I would think that many Muslim countries, such as Iran, are among the worst if not THE worst. It is only in the past year that two teenage boys were hung by piano wire in public, simply because they refused to acknowledge their "sin."

America is sharply divided between those who have brains and those who do not, ie: Red States and Blue States. The Blue States tend to be much more inclusive and less prejudiced, whilst the Southern Baptists have an extraordinary amount of influence in political spheres.

Even within Europe, certain countries are homphobic; especially the strongly catholic countries such as Poland and Slovakia; the former very actively pursuing an anti-gay agenda at the highest level.

Then there's Veronica.....clearly not a Rhodene Girl judging be her foul mouth....she's a cuntry to herself.

I guess it must be Veronica, and all who may sail in her.

Complex gave the best answer. The only thing I can add is that the most homophobic people on this site come from America. Look at that map and you’ll see the evilest people also happen to be the most religious, that should be a warning to us all.

I haven't been to any other countries but I gotta say that America is pretty homophobic. Pretty sad really when we're supposed to be the land of the free.

Most countries are, but the most homophobic are the Muslim Nations and of course the U.S. (at least the Republican side).

Afghanistan would be my guess. They chop heads off over there.

African countries are also very homophobic.

Jamaica is reputed to be a terribly homophobic place, but this may have been picked up from the british (see source).
