She owns her own house and car,own credit cards. I thought about having my name put on the deed but I imagine that is when the debt issues can come into play.

No, as a general rule, one spouse is not liable for the debts run up by the other spouse, unless they are run up on a joint account, or for "necessities" like food, clothing and shelter.

No. Not unless you two enter into new financial obligations together. So be careful.
