No. And pigs can't look up, either. It's the way their neck vertebrae are shaped.

I don't know for sure, but based on the position of their eyes, I would say they probably don't need to be able to turn their heads too far.The "rule of thumb" about eye placement is that predators have eyes placed on the front of their heads, so that they have good binocular vision and a good sense of distance. My guess is that predators (lions, wolves) would have flexible necks. Prey have eyes located on the side of their heads so they have a wider field of vision and can see predators. They wouldn't want to move a lot because being still keeps you hidden. So I would guess that their necks wouldn't be quite as flexible. Being a herd animal, and looking at eye placement, I would say that the elephant is a prey animal...eyes on the side...no need for an especially flexible neck.

They have not got a neck as such, they only have a few vertebrae to allow for up and down movement. the skull is too big and too close to their shoulders.
