My radiators make a lot of noise at night. You can be scared if you want to. They're pretty loud. I make my husband check on the baby 15 times a night because of the radiators. He's scared that I'm going to ask him to check on the baby every time the radiator bumps. I'm scared of rats and cockroaches. But we don't have those in our house.

Reminds me of an old favourite Scottish bedtime prayer:
From ghoulies and ghosties
And long-leggity beasties,
And things that go bump in the night -
Good Lord, deliver us

You should only be scared if it is a noise that you do not recognize, most of the time sounds can be explained away!

The dog when he falls off the couch.
No, you shouldn't be scared. Unless it's not your dog and not your couch. Then GET OUT OF THERE NOW!
