Why are people obsess with anime?

I'm curious...Why do people get in to it so deeply?

Anime covers every imaginable spectrum of interests. Action, comedy, drama, tragedy, whatever, it's got it.

In a good anime, it's more REAL. The characters have flaws. They have goals and dreams, and they change over time (though their clothes might not, but that's universal). There isn't always black and white, good and evil. The main characters make mistakes, do bad things, and in many cases are horrible examples of human nature. The bad guys aren't always horrible, they usually have a reason (sometimes a legitimately good one) for what they do, and, to put it simply, aren't just a random shadow that wants to do evil for the sake of doing evil.

You can't usually get something like that from cartoons. And I shudder to think of the **** littering tv these days... I hate reality tv, watching retards whine at each other. Pfft.

Anime is for all ages-- there's material for toddlers, children, teenagers, and adults. It's also been around for forever, the first anime going worldwide at 1918. It's traditional animation style is actually inspired by Disney (huge eyes, anyone?) and is the result of Westernizing Japan.

I guess in the end, it's just that anime is a fresh, new look at cartoons with so much variety and quantity that it's impossible to run out of it.

If you find the right Anime the Drama, Action, and Comedy pull you in also if you pay attention to the characters and forget that it's an Anime for one second you'll find a storyline you just can't get on actor played T.V. shows. You'll start to feel for the character's and get the experience first hand.

Because schools have anime clubs, which are full of hot girls. Many guys can start relationships with females that are also into anime. Anime can be a great relationship starter for many people! Not only that, but the cos-players are very hot.

As far as the shows go, they have amazing sound and image quality that surpasses America's (and other countrys') animations. There are also deeper plots that truly draw you into the show and its characters.

Well, otaku(people who fell into the manga/anime craze) like anime so much because they usually are atractected to the way characters act and of course the plot, where there's usualy someone with supranatural powers...

It has all the deep intensity of believable relationships with slapstick comedy and physically impossible stunts and action mixed in. Makes for an undeniably entertaining mix.

Seriously, though... It hits you hard. A lot of the really good ones have such great character development... and a lot of times there are such a range of types of characters that it's easy to relate to them...

lol, idk y either, but i'm into it. It's just a difference from our reality shows and american cartoons. Anime is like cartoons, but for older people too. Some stories are interesting too. Try it out, but don't watch any of that english dubbing crap. The voices ruin the original japanese voices -_-^

I don't understand why either.

I much prefer the American style too - give me Batman or Spider-Man over Naruto or Fruit Basket anyday.
