Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* How to Start and Operate an Errand Service (Revised 2nd Edition) by Rob Spina
* Start Your Own Personal Concierge Service (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Ups) by Entrepreneur Press
* The Concierge Manual, Second Edition by Katharine C. Giovanni

My niece is 3 and she folds socks all the time. All kids should start helping out a little by 5 or 6.

advertise, in free publications like the pennysaver, im not sure if thats available in your area, elderly spend alot of time reading those free papers

That would probably ne a welcome service.

Put flyers where these people would be. Local resturants, clubs etc.
