There was a programme on telly last night about these boilers, and the problem you have is countrywide. It appears that these boilers have a fault with the PCB and although they have recieved hundreds of complaints, Potterton won't admit there is anything wrong. Try to get in touch with potterton and find out if they are doing anything about this problem yet, especially now it has been on telly.

Sorry to tell you this but it looks like your printed circuit board is breaking down. I'm a heating engineer and of all the boards I change approx 60% are for Potterton Suprima's. Boards are approx £165

I actually got really excited when i saw this question as i am a heating engineers wife lol then i remembered i dont actually know anything about boilers.
It might be your pilot light you may need a new one call a heating engineer if you go to corgi you can find corgi registered engineers in your area

faulty sensor, most likely cheaper and easier to replace boiler. Just out of curiosity, is it barely out of warranty?

it's a circuitboard problem, there was a thing on 'watchdog' about them, the company knew there was a problem but didn't tell anyone! get in touch with 'watchdog' via website and report it , they may be able to help

it will probably need a service,you are supposed to get it serviced every 12 months.
