I don't think anyone's asked this one before. Who do you think could "bolt" like, say, Teddy Roosevelt in 1912. McCain? Lieberman? Who else?

Or, what other third-party candidates do you see running strongly in 2008? Nader? Libertarian? another strong Perot-style person?

This should be fun . . .

:)

If I had to throw out a wild guess, I'd say a McCain/Lieberman ticket would split the Republicans, who would come in third.

I dunno. I'm not sure I like any of 'em.

There's an awful joke here somewhere about who would look better in a dress - Rudy or Hillary.

Both have worn one in public.

It was actually harder to find a picture of Hillary in one:

I usually don't sink to that level of humor, but it IS bipartisan.

Perot was a once-in-a-lifetime phenomena. I worked on one of the congressional districts in southern California as an assistant coordinator and it was very exciting. There's no way we're going to have a 3rd party candidate in 2008 as strong as Perot was when he ran the first time.

American society can't handle change. They fight it at all costs. The society as a whole is bigoted, as far as religion is concerned. The American society cannot see the benefits of a three or more party system because they really don't have the their eyes on the rest of the world or they would know that multi party systems work (Americans are inward looking which is the society's biggest fault). If the U S leaves the middle east "COMPLETELY" and not meddle in their affairs as they have for the last 60 years or so you will find that the violence towards the U S will die down very quickly. But if the U S continues to meddle in the affairs of the middle east it will only get worse.

Nader is talking about running, although a Nader campaign will only help the Republicans.

Giuliani could run as an independent and do very well I believe. He has the loyalty of the conservatives for being the hero of 9-11 and is anti gun and pro abortion to bring in the liberals.

Nobody...it costs too much to run now. I wish we would have a viable third party candidate, as I am sick of both parties hypocracy.
