or could it be different? im wondering if im going to have the same contractions as my first one, they were painful and more in my abdomen than my back. im just curious cause i know theres people who go through back labor and i dont want to be expecting contractions to be one way and ignore the different ones when they start. anyone have the same or different labor pains with their pregnancies? again im asking this to moms who have had no complications and pretty much the same pregnancys with all or at least 2 of their kids?

Let's make it unanimous! No two pregnancies or labors are necessarily the same!
I had seven (yes, I'm crazy!) natural births--- six of them home births, in fact. Each one was different--- when the water broke, how the contractions went, length of labor etc.
Believe me, my dear, you WILL know when labor starts. I had my hardest time with my second baby, not because of an actually more difficult labor, but as soon as I felt that first real contraction I totally remembered how much it hurt the first time and I freaked out! So on the third one, I 'brain-washed' myself for the entire pregnancy to remember to relax and do my breathing--- and it was much better!
You will be fine--- Best of luck!

If you ask any doctor or midwife they will tell you the same thing: No two labours are the same.

You could go through seven completely uncomplicated labours/pregnancies and the labours could be incredibly different. It all depends on how you've made it through the pregnancy, on how the baby is positioned and so much more...

Example: If the baby is turned the wrong way (so that his/her back is pressed to yours) that's when you experience back labour. It's painful and feels very different from a "normal" labour.

No matter what kind of contractions you get though, you'll know when you're going into labour. Just watch the timing between each of the contractions and the strength and intensity of them.

You've been through this before... Just trust your instincts.

From experience of two boys I think that all deliveries are different. My first one I had horrible back labor for at least a week and cramps in the front, with my second I didnt even feel the contractions and didnt have any back labor.
Good luck! Hope that helps a little.
