That has to be a frightening job, the crowd always is insulting and sometimes threatening the umpires. A job I wouldn't want.

Just like everything in life there a good ones and bad ones, but as long as they call consistant games that is all you can ask. It is when a pitch comes in and they call it a ball and then the next pitch is in the same spot and they call it a strike that drives players nuts. So, that is why as long as they are consistant they are all right.

I think it's a tough job and deserves more respect from sports fans. Yes, they make mistakes but don't we all? It's just part of the game. I think they should do away with instant replay.

The crowds can be vicious indeed! BUT!!! "The Umpire Strikes Back"!!! :-)
