My friend says that he found out he has another card slot on his computer, a Pci with an out-of-date card and an empty Pci-e card slot. So, what I want to know is, is there a way to find out if your computer has another card slot without having to look into the computer or will I have to open the casing to look and see?

Yes, you can find out without opening your case.

1: Your owner's manual should list the types of slots your motherboard has

2: Go to your computer's manufacturer's website and go to the support link and enter your computer model number for specifications.

if your computer is a dell or gateway, you can enter the serial number in to a gateway/dell support web page from the company's main site. After entering the serial no., you can access photos of your motherboard. Compare the number of total slots in the photos to back of your system by looking at the number of occupied bays (those thin rectangular slots)near the bottom rear of the case.

its kinds strange..ok here is what I feel and know.. :

I have never heard of a Mobo with an AGP and PCIe slot together. So either you dont have a PCIe slot or that card is not a graphic card ( bcos only other way to get an add on graphics is AGP )

The only way to find it is by knowing the model no. and serch for it and find out the mobo description.

This information could also be found on the packing slip or computer documentation that came with your computer. If you bought this computer from a local computer store, then they may be able to look back in their records and tell you this information; otherwise, you may have to pull the case off and look inside to find out the information you need.
