Even though I was breast feeding, I had my first period 6 weeks after delivering my first baby. I didn't have my tubes tied, but I don't think that changes anything.
Like the first answerer said, probably your body is just trying to re-establish its normal hormonal patterns.
If you feel you are bleeding too much or too long, or if anything feels wrong, call your doctor. In fact, call him anyway--- the nurse will be able to give you info on whether or not you need to come in.
Good luck with your new baby!

yes it is normal. your hormones are trying to get back into their regular cycle. Don't worry.
