Hi everyone! Is it possible that the clearblue easy fertility monitor could tell you you are ovulating but you are not? I used mine for the first time in January. My LMP was 12/25/06 and the monitor told me I ovulated on the 14th or 15th. My period was due on January 26th but never showed. I took a preg test on January 26th, 31st, and Feb 7th all negative. I am confused, anyone have any thought to share????

Typically, if you have a 28 day cycle you would ovulate around day 14 counting from the first day of your period....I think it takes a few cycles for the monitor to acutally calculate correctly....I have used it and it took a few cycles to pinpoint my ovulation, but it does work!...if you havent gotten your period yet you may be preg and its too early for the test to pick up the hcg in your urine...wait a few more days test again and if it is still neg I would go to the drs. and have a blood test done to make sure! Good Luck!

The Clearblue tests only tell you when you have a surge of LH. LH is a hormone that is present when your body is beginning to ovulate. You actually don't ovulate for a day or two after the surge and sometimes don't ovulate at all. You won't get a period if your body hasn't ovulated yet. It seems that is what has happened. (or you ovulated later and are still in the 14 day window.)

The best way to use the Clearblue kits is to take your waking temperature as well as the ovulation predictor kits. When your waking temperature spikes, you have ovulated. Use a basil thermometer and keep track every morning. A great book that has charts for waking temperature is Taking charge of your Fertility.

Remember once your temperature spikes, you have already ovulated and it is too late to get pregnant. So make sure you continue using the Clearblue as well as the temperature charting.

Good luck.

your perio could belate because of stress or you could be pg and the hormone has not built up enough yet
