yea Grandpa made it..Best cough medicine you can get..A friend of mine (high school) we would get in his dad's stash. replacing it with water and putting it on the back of the shelf.

I haven't had the backwoods, homebrewed kind.
However, there was a company in Virginia a few years back that researched how moonshine was made and got a license to manufacture and sell it legally. It was sold in the Virginia ABC stores under the name "Virginia Lightning". It proudly proclaimed it had been aged a full ten days! It tasted like crap too! Funny thing is, it tasted so bad I left it sitting with the rest of my liquor for literally several years. The next time I tried to drink some, it actually tasted pretty decent! I don't know if it was my imagination or actually mellowed in the glass bottle with age.

Yes I have. It was the most horrible thing you can imagine. Like my mouth had gasoline in it and it was on fire.
