If you don't know why you want to go to college, no one can help you.
If you don't know what you want to do, but want to go, then go for this:
Learn how to learn. Learn what you are capable of. Imagine yourself teaching what you are learning, and you will figure out what you want.
The American University in Washington D.C. did have one of the finest math departments anywhere.
Auburn University is strong in Math.
So is Duke, Carolina.( there is only one, and it is in NC)
But then, I hear that M.I.T thinks they invented pure math- they get lots of movies made on campus. With strong departments, there will be jobs.
Figure out where you want to be. Don't worry too much, unless you are one of those wiz kids who need absolutely the best college anywhere, and if you are, then ask your school advisor. He/she gets paid for that kind of stuff.

It sounds like you should go to college with a math major; maybe from there you will take courses that will interest you in more specific areas.
