The problem is that the concepts of 'right' and 'wrong' can change depending on where you're standing. If your children are starving to death, stealing bread to feed them is not wrong...unless you're the baker, and your own family is starving because everyone keeps stealing your bread.

Stealing is clearly wrong and against the law. In the case a person is hungry and not saying or doing anything about it another's pride is not the responsibility of others.

It is also not the responsibility of others to feel sorry for those who steal anything. Empathy is the ability to know that others have hard times and the ability to help if helping will improve the situation. Empathy turns into enabling when theft if verbally accepted.

not at all. greedy corporations steal from consumers with their unbalanced prices in a way, so if you steal from a store, whos to say youre not balancing the world, sh*t. slaves stole food becuz they were underfed, & ppl today still steal to feed themselves. Stealing from poor people to profit is always wrong, but sometimes and i know this is controversial, there is a such thing as victimless crimes. stealing a carton of milk from walmart on your way to school as your breakfast is not wrong, F*ck walmart. lol, ive never done this, but i wouldnt feel bad one bit. walmart will never miss that item, but that kid might not starve that day of his midterm, or lets say he steals a sweater, he wont be cold that day or the next & walmart wont miss that $26.99 one freakin bit! These corporations have an abundance of materials and money, so while it may not be 'okay' to some ppl, i think the bigger crime is ppl starving in the world, rather than shoplifting. In fact in a way GOD put all this sh*t here for ALL of us...

on the other hand i think stealing from an individual is usually wrong, even if they are rich because you are stealing what someone else earned when you should be figuring out how to earn it yourself.... stealing is def. not always wrong or immoral. sometimes situations force people to steal. thats just life.

To steal means to take something wrongfully from somebody else, when you don't have a right to it.

If somebody is attempting to commit a crime with a gun and you take their gun away, that's not the same as stealing. We all have a right, and even a civic responsibility to try to prevent crimes of violence against ourselves and people around us.

If you take something from somebody else because you think it's a thing to be desired, and you want it for your own, that's stealing.
