Strange calls, all-star no calls, lack of traveling calls, home town calls ... I have seen more wacky calls from referees this year in the NBA than I can remember, but then again, this has been going on for some time

Do NBA referees conspire to make questionable calls to keep nationally televised games close???

I am not really sure, but it would seem like they do to me. The most obvious example is the referees at Staples Center during Lakers games. Just watch them make enthusiastic, emphatic calls against the visiting team, and ignore some (not all) of the Lakers' fouls. This was most obvious to me in Lakers home games against the Rockets, Timberwolves, and Mavericks this season, though I don't go out of my way to watch Lakers games. I know Kobe Bryant fans will protest and say hateful things, but I'll let you guys watch the refs yourself. I don't have anything against the Lakers, (except Kobe Bryant and his selfish attitude), I actually like Sasha Vujacic as one of my favorite players not on my favorite team, but I can't help but notice the refs' L.A simpathies.

No they are not making the calls to keep the games close. The refs cant make every call and see every thing that is going on in a game, its impossible. Also over the past years it has been getting worse and worse with referees missing calls and making bad ones. This year there are too many technical fouls being called in the NBA and it needs to stop. It seems that if a player looks at a ref the wrong way he get t'd up just because of who he is.

Nope...they don't. They just aren't the best refs in the country. They are "tv" refs. They look good and they are ethnically diverse but they aren't the best out there. There are plenty of ugly folks who are better refs who aspire to be NBA refs but won't make it because television isn't kind to them.

As for keeping games close? Players do that...theydo not play hard for 48 minutes. don't blame the refs for that!

I've seen it happen several times and I've seen teams lose games because of bad calls in the last seconds and I do think that referees do it on purpose sometimes, more often than not.

I agree he's strict, yet you want to be strict. If not a pastime can get out of control. Now, to be complication-free, i do not imagine his suspension should be that lengthy with Timmy D purely getting an outstanding. reason in actual actuality i do not trust Timmy D for a sec. Like, many have reported Timmy D hates Joe, and that i do not placed it previous him and his teammates to make a narrative up for his or her personal leisure.
