I havent given it to my son yet and he has 2 teeth, he is six months old and getting more teeth and they are driving him crazy. Hes extra crabby! I am wondering if its worth it to try baby orajel. My main fear is that he loves to chew on his hands and I dont want him to rub his eyes and get the baby orajel solution in them.

I would give orajel to help for a little, but it doesn't last for long so I would follow with some Tylenol when the baby is really fussy. By the the time the orajel wears off, the Tylenol kicks in. It worked like a charm for my daughter who was very fussy during teething.

If you've ever used Orajel on yourself you know that it's not really THAT effective...moreover the baby brand of Orajel is less effective (because it's a weaker formula). And it does taste awful (it makes my son angry and he just cries more). Tylenol will be your best friend...try the orajel to get him settled down (and if he doesn't hate it) it should give the Tylenol some time to start working. Also another neat trick is to wet the corner of a washrag stick it in the freezer then let him chew on the end that's frozen.

Orajel, a chilled gel teething ring and maybe a dose of tylenol for enfants!

Part of the hand chewing is actually to help cut the teeth and get some relief. If you don't have a gel teething ring, you can also try a good thick (preferably nubby) damp, chilled wash cloth for him to "cut on".

It's safe and effective, making a world of difference for baby and mother.

I've tried to give my daughter Orajel, but she doesn't like the taste so she cries even more and spits majority of it out. Try some Tylenol first and if that doesn't help, go ahead with the Orajel. I've never heard of anyone getting it in their eyes, because they swallow majority of it pretty fast.

I only used Baby Orajel (swabs) once in a while. I actually thought my son did much better with those Hyland's Teething Tablets. They quickly dissolve under his tongue, so there would be no issue with rubbing in the eye! They seem to work great!

I know every child is different. My first son was allergic to Orajel, so I used Motrin for him ... my second son tolerates it just fine. Give it a shot! It absorbs fairly quickly into the gums, so I don't think you'd have to worry about your son getting any on his hands.

I did but i only used it about twice. But each baby is different so its sort of hard to answer. you may want to try the teathing rings fresh from the freezer or ice wrapped in a napkin my son liked that alot. And as far as him getting it on his hands and rubbing his eyes... between his lips and his tounge it will get on to those parts before it gets to his hands

It worked good for a little while on my daughter, but they have these teething tablets you can buy, all you do is just hold it under their tongue for a few seconds and they dissolve really quick and they worked real good on her. And it says on the bottle that if they have been crying b/c it hurts so bad that it may make them sleepy too.

USE THE ORAJEL. GIVE HIM SOMETHING ELSE TO CHEW ON THAT WILL HELP "SCRATCH" HIS GUMS
