What is going to be the next big thing for people to crowd as an industry. The first big thing i've seen is the real estsate industry. Then the fashion industry, i am not an economist so maybe i am just on the outside looking in, can anyone predict the future of what is to be the next thing everyone wants to pursue as an occupation or what is to be in high demand for a comfortable living or even a meager one.

It depends on particular tastes for individuals, but several industries will start to exert more prominence in the next few years. Here are a few that I feel will pick up between now and 2010.

Financial analysts: currently, there is a major shortage in financial analysts, as the position requires a strong background in accounting concepts in order to analyze financial data. Also, most individuals in this field use it as a stepping stone to get to other positions, leaving a void in the upper levels of this field. As a result, wages for this industry will increase, and thus individuals will attempt to break into this field.

Networking services: computers have been a hot industry for quite a while, thus that particular industry is not necessarily the gold mine it used to be. However, as industries continue to make the transition to better, more sophisticated networks, individuals who are able to perform these services will become more in demand. Thus, wages will rise for these individuals, as more companies go after the individuals with these skills.

Truck drivers: This one may seem a bit odd, but due to changes in priorities, truck drivers have begun to be in high demand. Many individuals no longer want to take several days away from the family to drive a truck across country. Thus, those individuals willing to do this will be able to see wage increases since the supply of such individuals is dwindling. Already, many trucking companies have begun to hire retired couples who want to travel together to drive trucks, simply because they cannot find enough labor. I think this industry will begin to see much higher wages soon.

Those are a few. There are undoubtedly more out there, and others will begin to emerge soon. Hope this helps.

cell phone companies and cable.
cable companies are very FEW they need compitition and its on the rise. also Japan is way ahead of us they are watching TV on their cell phones for like 3 years now. They also can take poloroid photos with them so I think those areas being one hot and one in need are going to fetch alot of interest in the near future before 2010 .
