5/31/07 is two days after Memorial Day in america. Most schools conduct an Open House on the 31st, two days after the holiday. Or could he be hinting about a surprise test.
I don't know anything that will happer in Dec 2009, other that Christmas. Maybe its another surprise test. Below is a link that will help with the first part of your question. Enjoy!
