Steve ran off to become a forest ranger and divorced MArcy; Jefferson and she married at a bankers convention after he got out of jail in Vegas after a drunken night.

Steve lost his job at the bank and stoll a turtle and ran off to be a forest ranger so, Marcy divorced him. Marcy got crunk and married Jefferson at a bankers convention. She woke up the next morning and didn't know who he was. They got married in the Bundy's backyard. Jefferson was her husband for the rest of the show.
The guy that played Steve wanted to leave to peruse other acting jobs.

Don't know, but the guy that played Jefferson was in Wicked the Musical at the Pantagus theatre in Los Angeles last year when I went. Along with that lady from Scrooged that played the blonde fairy that hit Mr. Scrooge all the time!!!

Steve did come back to claim back Marcy but he stolen a rare egg from the park so after that episode he winds up in Prison.
