With my first child I was aobut 18 weeks pregnant when I started wearing Maternity clothes.
When I was 6 weeks pregnant with my 5th child I started getting a baby bumb and had to wear bigger pants.
Hunny , trust me, you will get sick of your maternity clothes by the end of the 9 months. Be patient. Good news is.............. the longer you wait to wear maternity clothes, the sooner you may be able to get into your pre pregnancy clothes after baby is born.
Try to stay cumfy. Your baby is growing. Alot depends on your body size and height and muscle structure.

I bought maternity jeans at around 12 weeks, I was not showing that much but my other jeans were too tight and I did not wan to buy up a size. I bought some cute slim fit jeans with a little stretchy waist band. I am 25 weeks now and am just now really wearing maternity tops.
I had a friend who is in fantastic shape and she did not start showing until like 6 months and only gained 18 pounds in all. Really everybody is diffrent in whichthey gain

I started wearing matenity clothes around 15 weeks....i didn't really show yet, but i couldn't stand having any clothing tight on my stomach. It was more of a comfort thing then a fit thing for me. But, by 20 weeks i was totally into maternity clothes b/c i finally got the bump! I would advise to buy things a little bigger than you think you'll need.....Many of my maternity clothes are too tight now! I was a size 8 (pre-pregnancy) and bought size medium maternity clothes. They were huge when i started wearing them, but now they are too tight! Fortunately i had borrowed a few thing in size large that fit a little better now. Oh, and i've only gained 25lbs. Congratulations!!

I agree. Jen, that IS rude. sometimes women just want to talk to other women, especially if it is their first pregnancy. How would you feel? I am sure you have had a question someone thought was stupid too.... anyway, whenever you feel comfortable! A lot of the maternity clothes out are pretty cute, try Destination Maternity. I am almost 17 weeks and put away my reg. pants about a week ago. The difference is really noticeable in how comfortable you feel!

I'm 30wks with my first and don't own any maternity clothes. Most of my "pre-pregnancy" pants still fit - those that don't are in the back of the wardrobe for the moment.
I went up a size in shirts because my breasts grew and of course my belly popped out, but the only thing i've really had to purchase are bigger bras. Most of my other stuff is still fine.... oh yeah and flat shoes (i was always a heels fan before! lol).
I didn't start showing a noticeable "bump" until 6months.
Good luck!

I didn't find a need to wear maternity clothes with my first until about 15-16 weeks. A lot sooner with my second. Enjoy your flat tummy and the fact that you can see your feet. That will soon change. It (the baby bump)sometimes seems to appear overnight.
Congrats on your baby and best of luck!

I am 13 weeks and haven't gained any weight yet. With baby # 1 I was wearing maternity clothes by week 14 but I also had slim fit hip hugger jeans then. Now I am starting to show but I am just wearing comfy clothse like hippee flowing skirts, and streach pants. I imagine by week 16 I will be in them.

I held off on wearing maternity clothes as long as I could for my first pregnancy because it was 12 years ago and the maternity fashions weren't as cute as they are today. I wore my jeans button open for as long as I could remember. Maternity clothes are expensive and luckily at around 5 months someone donated some to me and boy do it feel much better. Sometimes at twelve weeks its hard to tell. Give it a few weeks. You will notice and feel much better pants without hard waistlines. I remember my pants creeping up on my belly like urkel. But man it felt much better. Good Luck
