any look in your yellow pages under recycling and locate a place that deals with computer equipment
you may also be able to donate it to a computer repair school

I personally would be celebrating and using it as an excuse to go out and get an LCD monitor!

LCD monitors use less energy, are easier on the eyes, and don't emit radiation. They are less expensive than they used to be.

Is this monitor old? Or did you get it recently? If it was a recent purchase, you can probably take it back to the store if it is defective, and you can get a new one. If it's old, then I don't think there is much you can do about it.
