O.K., just recalling this makes my heart pound. About 12 years ago, my mom, my step dad and I were driving across country to visit an ill relative. My step dad (a race car driver and form Army Ranger) was going 90 mph down the highway and decided he wanted a soda from the cooler in the back of his pick-up truck, but he didn't want to stop the truck to get it. He set the cruise control, told my mom to hold the wheel, crawled out his window, maneuvered himself into the bed of the truck, got the Mountain Dew and passed it to my Mom through the cab window. He then maneuvered himself back through the window and started steering again as if nothing had happened. All of this was done at 90 mph at break-neck pace and in a Dodge diesel with GIGANTIC tires! I don't ride with him any more and neither does my mom.

Using one hand to talk on his cell phone, and gesturing wildly with the other. On the DC Beltway. At 85 miles an hour. Directly behind MY car.
