I have tried deleting it, renaming it, everything, but it keeps on coming back. If I wanted a folder called links, I would create my own. But I don't. The whole point of the "favourites" section is to bookmark all the links that you want to keep and use again.
Can somebody please help? How do I get rid of it permanently?

To permanently remove this folder you will have to edit your registry be very careful though as you can seriously mess up your pc. The steps are on the link here.

Right click on the closed links folder and click on delete.
It might be an idea to reset your homepage with the links folder deleted, and that might prevent it from popping up again.

I just got rid of it on mine. I got the favorites up,links was highlighted at the top, so right clicked on it, then left clicked on delete, then a window asked me if I was sure I wanted to delete links. I clicked on yes, then went to the recycle bin and deleted it from there. When I returned to my favorites, it was gone.
