Try the piece of software in the link below. Its called iTunes Agent and allows you to use iTunes with any player.

Currently no. This has been in the news as recently as yesterday that Steve Jobs from Apple has bee lobbying to get security software currently in use abolished because it doesn't prevent people from illegally selling burned copies of music. All it does if keep you from being able to load music from iTunes onto non-Apple players.
