What's sad is how weak the will of the American people has gotten.....It has been estimated that in the first 15 MINUTES of the Normandy invasion we lost over 3,000 troops.....and after we had established a beachhead on Normandy we had to break out into the French country side. In just ONE battle on ONE day we lost over 30,000 Americans....... This was the generation of my and your grandfathers. We're not even going to get into the tens of thousands of MY generation that died in Vietam and the ones who came back and were spit upon by their fellow Americans....
I put most of the blame on the liberal news media....If ONE soldier dies in Iraq....its instantly flash on the news across the world.....with shots of the grieving family and testimonial from friends and family members.......Interviews with high school and grade school teachers.....etc, This serves no purpose other than to put doubts into peoples minds about the war.... Face the facts we're over there right or wrong......and crying about the number of deaths....(which is infinitesimal compared to ALL other conflicts up to this point)..... helps no one but the enemy....
It's like the media thinks its a ball game and you keep up with who is winning by the numbers of the dead.....

Its heartbreaking and sad. Thats 3,000 American families which are thousands and thousands of people, missing a member. Thats thousands of American children missing a parent. That's 3,000 mothers without sons and daughters. They left and never came back. I think about it everyday. Its so hard to hear people be so nasty to each other over this war when there are families being disintergrated every day. I am also worried about the toll it will take on our morale as a country. These families that are now mourning will have an effect on us as a whole.

Hi life 19982-
I have thought about it quite a bit, and I would rather fight this fight on the aggressors' soil than on ours.
What about the 600,000+ civilians who have died over there? Where's your concern for them? And, isn't it better it's the aggressor's people that innocent victims, as we would be if it were happening here?
I'm very sad there are Islamunazis who are willing to die for world religious domination, but there are, and I thank God every day for a nation that is willing to stand up to fascism and evil in the guise of religion.
I think most of us feel totally frustrated over the situation, and don't want to deal with the tragedy on a conscious level because it's just too damn depressing! Have a good day.

It is often said that 100 deaths is a statistic, but one death is a tragedy. People don't understand unless it happens to them.
I'd also like to blame the media. When 7 personelle die in a helocopter crash, Eyewitness News gave them about ten seconds. But when there was a wrinkle cream that makes people look younger it gets 5 minutes or more, every hour.
If they media would only concentrate on real news, maybe people would know that it was occurring and think about it and act.
I think that our government doesn't want us to know how many people are dying in that WAR and start thinking about it because they are afraid that our natural instincts agains it will act up and we will make them stop this awfulness.
against the war, but i wholeheartedly support the men and women who are our troops.
i wish people cared and THOUGHT!!!!

Out of everyone that is upset with what is going onHow many voted for BUSH. Now with the war still going on who voted for BUSH a second time. Put your voice where it needs to go. If you don't vote you do not have the right to complain about what is going on because you chose to do nothing...So make a stand and Vote....My children wont join the military....

3000 is a lot to me and so i 1 dead or even 1 injured. Its not OK to break apart family's. I hate hearing about how children are dying in other countries and how we should help when our own families are dying and their is nothing we can do about it. I think about those families everyday.

I think we only have 600,000 army soldiers in the U.S........About 1 percent of the soldiers sent to Iraq since 2003 have died, not to mention the one's that got injured.

The death of one soldier is one too many.
Every time I hear of a death or wounding of a brave soldier, I give a little prayer of thanks....Thanks that my family is safe at home and thanks for the brave men and women that are willing to sacrifice themselves for others.
God bless the men and women serving their countries!
