The idea that races even exists astounds me. There is no such thing as 'race' - just gene pools that are indigenous to certain land masses. Asians, for example, do not exist - just people with Asiatic physical characteristics. Some may say that there would still be discrimination based on how people act,e.t.c. even if everyone had the same physical characteristics. But relatively speaking it does not seem to me that this would be the case. White people, for instance, don't normally seem to discriminate against other white people just because of they way they look or act. If there is any discrimination it is usually by a person of one "ethnicity" to another. The europeans first discriminated against africans because of the color. But suppose the Africans had the same color skin as Europeans. There would have been no discrimination based on skin color. So why can't you just say we are all the same? Because aside from skin color/ actions based on learned behavior we are all the same.

People were raised to believe that we are all different and that we can't associate with one another because of skin color. Martin Luther King had a dream similar to yours, but sad to say that it won't come true. Some people hate others because of their skin color. Nothing can be done about racism.

Discrimination is based on how people act, the language they speak, the food they eat and of course religion, color of the skin has nothing to do with it, say someone needs a heart transplant or blood transfusion would the search be based on the color of the donors skin?. I have a variety of friends and race is never an issue, food, religion and clothes are and we work around it. I have actually donated my blood to save a friend's life who is of a different race and color and we will be friends for as long as we live.

Europeans discriminated against Africans b/c of their social structure and it made them feel better about subordinating and enslaving them...It was a lot easier to do because of their skin. I do agree though, I ahve hated the concept of race for quite some time. It really is so trivial...its just a stumbling block keeping people from whats really important....

if everyone was the same color, people would hate each other for hair length or what part of the country they were from, or what they eat or anything. that's kinda how people are wired.

Very true. Although I believe that the people in Asia should be called Asians. I'm from American and, therefore, I am American.
