Good question. Here is the argument (I'm not saying that I believe it myself):
1) They have lost 3 games all on the road to the following teams:
UNC (currently # 5)
Florida (currently #1)
Wisconsin (currently #4)
2) Those are their only losses - would be considered 'quality' because they were on the road to good teams, although Florida absolutley blew them out. UNC and Wisc. were fairly close
Wisconsin has lost to unrated Indiana and Missouri State.
UNC has lost to unrated Virginia Tech, NC State, and Gonzaga.
TAMU has lost to Texas Tech.
I think OSU is a little over-rated. I think TAMU and Pitt deserve to be higher than they are. Wisconsin and UNC both have non-quality losses to deal with.
It will all work out because 65 teams will play a tournament at the end of the season.

They have taken care of the teams they are supposed to beat. There losses came to 3 teams in the top 5, and they have a lot of talent.
Not too mention a number of teams ranked ahead of them lost recently, causing them to keep climbing.
It doesn't matter because if the season ended today, Wisconsin would be a 1 seed and OSU would be a 2 seed....the selection comittee doesn't pay much attention to the polls.
they shouldn't have even beat tennessee! we were up by 1 with 24 seconds left and the ball....they fouled our best free throw shooter (lofton) and he missed the front end of the 1-1....OSU hits a 3 and we lose!!
i think OSU has a win or two against teams right on the border of the top 25 (didn't they beat Indiana, who just climbed in?)

Worst? This 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, it rather is far and away the SEC. Tennessee is combating for a No. a million seed, Vanderbilt is amazingly risky, yet Kentucky had to rather conflict on the top to even warrant attention, Florida is on the verge of adjusting into the 1st protecting national champion on condition that Kansas in 1989 to omit the NCAA tourney, and the the remainder of the communities are so-so or worse. maximum suitable? i might bypass with the percent10. The officiating crews can form of suck (ex. UCLA-Cal game, besides the certainty that consistent with probability they only had to enable them to play) yet each and all the communities are tourney-high quality different than Oregon State. Take the champions, UCLA. they have lost to USC and Washington, and almost lost to Stanford, Cal, and Washington State. Arizona crowned Washington State somewhat in the past, yet have not they been swept via Oregon? did no longer Oregon additionally beat Stanford? Stanford replaced into on the verge of sharing the identify, weren't they? Excepting Oregon State, any group interior the percent10 is a risky group. After that, that's the large East (lots of communities, yet too a lot of them suck for it to be an extremely deep convention, IMHO) and the ACC (UNC, Duke, Clemson, Maryland, and so on).

Your point is well made, OSU lacks quality wins, but also have no bad losses: at #1 Florida, at #4 Wisconsin and at #5 North Carolina.
Every other team in the NCAA has lost a game to a lesser opponent.
Florida lost at (unranked) Florida State;
UCLA at (unranked) Stanford and Oregon
Wisconsin at Missouri State (!?!??!) and Indiana
North Carolina at Gonzaga, VA Tech and NC State
The list goes on. Yeah, they have yet to win a really big game, but they have won everything else. And, who has won a game as big as at Florida, at Wisconsin, or at UNC?
No need to argue, though, OSU still has a game against Wisconsin and even if that does not convince you, we can all wait and see if their freshman have matured enough through the season to win some games in the Tournament.

Cause despite them losing to 3 ranked team, those are like their only 3 losses. And it's pretty damn good to only have 3 losses by this time in the season.
