To be honest, I don't think there's any need to start changing your hardware for DirectX 10 unless you have a lot of money to spend. As you know, DirectX10 is pretty new, coming out with Windows Vista. This means unless you're a technology whiz who wants to live on the edge, you might want to wait for the DirectX 10 hardware and software to catch on. Why buy a new card you might end up replacing anyway? Besides, I don't think there are any DirectX 10 games out yet. Though I did hear Halo 2 for the PC will be Windows Vista/DirectX 10 only. Bottom line is, there's never a guarantee that DirectX 10 cards/drivers will play predecessors games better, or even play them at all.

I have a rubbish graphics card since i am only 13 and don't get much pocket money. I have a 6600 which i bought from a friend. I am looking to buy a new comp for around 1200euros though. I have emailed you about a good graphics card that is directX 10 and cheap. In case you didn't get it, it is a GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 that i think would be good.

I've had nothing but ATI cards, and I can tell you nVidea(sp) cards are better in almost all cases. They generally run at higher clock speeds making them better.

Why do you wan to get a DirectX 10 card? There aren't many games that take advantage of it yet and they're all super expensive at the moment. My advice, wait 'till Black Friday and see if you can find a deal.
