I am a teacher, and am quite stressed most of the time. I think it should be pretty high on the list of stressful occupations. My students are mostly enjoyable and want to learn. The stress is because many of them have difficult, unstable homes. There's only a limited number of strategies available to the teacher in these situations. But, while the kids are in my classroom they are treated with respect and shown that they can learn.
Besides the stress generated by student's family problems, there is the stress which is caused by "the system." Most administrators care most about their chances for promotion and keeping their cushy jobs. For these reasons, they only care about teachers and students following the procedures and getting high scores on standardized tests. If you have a principal who is not self-serving it would be very unusual.
The last stress I want to mention is the constantly changing standards and requirements. This mandates that teachers spend any free hours/days attending additional college courses and seminars. The time I have for my family is much less than I anticipated when I chose teaching as a career.
In summary, don't become a teacher if you can't handle high stress situations.

Operator for 911. Most of the people calling are upset, yelling or crying and everything else. They usually cant last more than a year or 2 of this stress. It is horrible.

An airline traffic controller. I think being the President of the United States is another. There are lots of planes in the sky at all times. When you are the President of the U.S. I think the world weighs on your shoulders.
