FInd a place to stay before you get to calgary. It is incredibly hard to find a place to live, and it is very expensive. Most places won't hire you unless you have a place for that reason. it is hard. I looked for a new place from August and we finally found a dump for November 1st. Best bet is find a room and board situation, pack what you need for a month or two and go. check it out, if you like it then try to find something permanent. Unless you have a trade or education though, Calgary isn't that great. 10 or 12$ an hour doesn't go too far to paying rent of 1000$ a month. Find 5 friends, and rent a two bedroom basement suite dude, and your set.
