I don't think she is a hero in the sense that some kid enlisting in the Army is, she has made a good living from this and her risk was much less than a soldier, cop or fireman. Astronauts are made people after flights. Too bad that she is a wee bit unbalanced (understatement!!) but she is not a sympathetic character and there but for luck she would be a murderer and that would have shamed the space program beyond repair. She does demean herself and other women in professions by reverting to the worst stereotype of woman as envious and mean so that is something that she has accomlished. No slack. She pays the price and she has not done anything to merit slack.

She has too many undealtwith issues. C'mon, she attempted to murder someone who was dating someone she liked. The guy wasn't even interested in Nowak other than a work relationship...
She should be hospitalized... People like her are the types of parents who produce psychopaths, serial killers, szhitzos, etc. You know why? Because they focus on other things outside the family-life instead and take their undealtwith anger out on the innocent bystanders (the children).
Why give her some slack? What's your point?

Are you kidding me?
She might've put her life on the line for NASA but her personal actions have little to do with that. Attempted murder is just that...attempted murder. This exhibits a problem prevalent in our country. That problem being that individuals of a perceived higher social stature than that of the average citizen are deemed infallible or that we should just cut them a little slack. If a homeless man that happened to be a Vietnam vet had committed the same crime, would you then be asking for a little slack for him?

No slack for her. If some man is more important to her than her job and her children she deserves what she gets. Just because she is an astronaut she can try to kill her competition, use violence to get her own way and then we cut her some slack no way.

Give us a break. What did it do for anyone besides her? She got a free education, Annapolis, she had an ideal job, test pilot. She embarrased her children, her family, and the Navy. Slack? Hardly from me. You go ahead,

Slack? Well, no. Crazy is as crazy does and I think she's nuts! Driving with a diaper on so you don't have to stop on your way to kill someone for maybe being a threat to your "love" relationship? Yep, she's scary!

Hell no. She cheated on her husband and left her family. She has young children for crying out loud. On top of that she's weird. How did she ever make it into NASA and to the rank of Captain in the navy, thats phenomenal. Lucky for all of us she didn't decide to crash the space shuttle into her "rival" or a plane.

Why all of a sudden are people begging for leniency for her? Really not making much sense to me and I'm sure it's not making any sense to the woman she attacked! She is obviously in need of some serious help for her deteriorating mental health!

Doesn't matter, she is a nut who needs professional help. I mean driving with a diaper on so she wouldn't have to stop, with weapons in the car and mace....but you are right is belongs to NASA...not for long!
