I am planning a family reunion in vegas and I wanted to know if the cirque du soleil shows are appropriate for kids. I know one of them is definetly not. If you have any other suggestions for kid friendly shows other than Circus Circus that would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

The shows KA at the MGM Grand and the show Mystere at Treasure Island. I have seen Mystere and it is more like a circus atmosphere. Great for kids. And anywhere you sit is great. At times it is theatre in the total.

KA is more of story of the trials and tribulations of a journey.

Check out the website below for more details.

Cirque du Soleil shows are certainly appropriate for children of all ages, as others have mentioned. The only show that is not appropriate for children is Zumanity - you must be 18 to enter do to the sexual nature of the show. I've not been to Las Vegas, so I've yet to see one of those shows out there, but I've seen Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba at Walt Disney World twice and loved it. I can't wait to see it again this summer! And, of course, when I turn 21 I plan to go to Las Vegas and see each of the Cirque du Soleil shows stationed out there. I'm a big fan.

I would suggest going to see Cirque du Soleil: O if you can afford it. It's absolutely incredible and most of the acts are performed either in or above a large pool. It's awesome! I'm sure the kids would really love it. Besides "O" there are three other Cirque du Soleil shows stationed in Las Vegas (not including Zumanity since it's innappropriate for the children) - LOVE, Mystere, and KA.

Also, you may want to look into joining the Cirque Club. It's free. You get updates of all the shows and even discounts on tickets. And at the Cirque du Soleil website you can watch clips of each of the shows so you can decide what you think would interest the entire family the most. You can also find really good clips of entire acts on YouTube or Yahoo! Video.

Hope I could help! Hope your family has a great time!

All the other Cirque du Soleil shows are kid friendly. Just not Zumanity. The kids will love them! You'll love them even more! Make sure to get into your seat 15 minutes to 1/2 hour before the show starts. There is always something going on during that time. In "O", you may start feeling water drops come down on your head (it's a water themed show, and my favorite). Also, there are usually clowns doing some really outrageous pranks to the audience members, and you don't want to miss that.

All but Zumanity are kid friendly. Mystere at TI would be your best bet for young'ns. It's a more traditional acrobatic/circus/clown feel. The story line in Ka might be a little dull for children. O is more of an upscale crowd and there are never deals on tickets, if you can get them at all. Love is a Beatles theme show mostly about the music - it's a little weak on the acrobatic stuff that kids would like.
