It may be a little limited, but you do have a future. Some magazines like Seventeen, want real girls they can feature, since they educate on what's best for every body type. I'm sorry to say that you can't do runways, but some commercial modeling is probably acceptable. There are ways of illusion to make the eye believe that your body is longer and leaner. But just go ahead to an agency and try to see if they'll feature you for magazine and commercial modeling.
Good luck!

Not really. But being short is an advantage as an actress, so you could try that. You aren't short enough to be a petite fit model either. The shortest models I have come across/worked with were 5"7, 5'8" and they were considered too short and didn't get the premier work. You could do print for a few years, but it isn't the glamorous thing you think it is. If you do, save the money to go to school and get somewhere. Modeling is kind of an ugly on the inside business anyway, you may be better off. You will be treated like pretty cattle.
Modeling is very arbitrary, so if you don't fit the criteria, I would try something else.

Do a search on Google for model agencies. Also depending upon your age you could consider getting into a Miss Teen pagent or Miss (whatever state you live in) and that could lead to offers.

im 5'5 and i have been getting a lot of modeling offers and i want to model, but its the how to start thats getting me. first of all i read that you need a porfolio of pics. headshots, natural, candid, and posed for, casual, formal, etc. natural pics (candid) are prefered ovr the glossies. don't waste your monet on pricey photos and salons. girls that r 5'8 and under are commercial models , girls taller than that are on the runway. look on the internet or yellow pages to find an agency. but be careful of scammers! god luck with it!!!
