My husband told my friend that our house is his home away from home. His parents live in another state and he has only had his new job for 3 weeks what do you think he meant by that?

Sounds like he's a momma's boy and he's home-sick after 3 weeks.

A house is a couple's home. Changes are he's going to miss being away from mommy, so I would recomment unpacking everything. He may be moving back to mommy-land within a coupe of weeks.

He's got to leave the nest once and for all. His mommy is probably glad he moved to another state. Now she has some free time to herself.

It means that being with you is his home and he still thinks of home as with his parents too.... Really however he would be thinking of home with you as his main home and his parents house as home away from home. Ask him what he meant by it and see what he has to say.
