This is a serious research question.
Do they want to take care of and play with the horse, or is it possible they want to be the horse?
What do you remember from your childhood?

I loved animals when I was young. I always either wanted to be the horse, because they were so graceful and to just have that feeling of experiencing their experiences. Running at full speed with the wind blowing through your hair, etc.I also loved horses because I always wanted a secret relationship with them, to be able to speak with them, to understand them, to tame them. I had an active imagination when I was young.

They're beautiful, strong, and they're fun to ride, also they're probably indirectly connected to true love, just because a horse in almost any movie is carrying a rider to their love or the couple that love each other. I think they take care of it like a child, yet the horse protects them or feels like it's protecting them.

It is your question. My guess: The answer may well be an indelicate one that most people would like to refer you to Jungian and Freudian literature. The answer lies in the natural course of life and is normal and healthy.

I think it has to do with having something to care for and love.
