Why don't you drive down to Fort Lauderdale, or Miami and get yourself on a little weekend cruise?
They've probably got a TON that are going to the Bahamas... and that would be beachy and warm.

You may be able to find some going out of Port Caneveral or Tampa, also?

Good luck! I'm jealous you live in North Florida! It's a lot warmer than where I am in Ohio!

Orlando is in the middle of the state, so your choice is west coast or east coast. To the east is the Atlantic Coast, colder warmer. Melbourne and Daytona are close on that coast. The West Coast, my choice, 2 to 3-1/2 hours away. Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach , Saint Petersburg Beach, Maderia Beach all in Pinellas County, nice. Bradenton Beach in Sarasota County, very nice. You choice. You could go farther and go to Fort Lauderdale or Miami? The one good thing is Florida has LOTS of nice beaches. But remember in March it will still be cold for the beach, unless your from Canada. Those crazy Canadians swim if it's about 50. Burrrrrr. Just relax, enjoy and check out the smaller places as well as the Kingdom of the Big Rat, AKA Disney. Try to include, Seaworld. Have a great trip! Dj

Ha ha. I saw your initial question and was going to suggest St. Augustine. I guess that is out, huh?

If you like St. Augustine, however, you might try Charleston or Savannah. They are not too far away from where you are at, and they are really nice and romantic. Not too expensive, either. My wife and I live in Tallahassee, and we've been to both places. Drove, too. Very nice.

Atlanta is another good option, and has a great night life. There is a lot to do there, too. I'd say it is less romantic, but more fun.

Honestly if you want to go somewhere romantic... I would drive all the way down to the Keys. Look up some nice bed and breakfast hotels, or you probably can even rent a house. We do that...
I love the keys. My hubby and I have family there and we are always going there..
You can take a sunset cruise. I think eating seafood next to the water is sexy.
And I think it's cool to also do activities together. You can look up maybe taking a snorkel tour or something.... we like to do activities together :)

HOWEVER, the most romantic weekend we had was in Naples in the hotel escalante... it's nice.... google it. We ate at a nice restaurant.... it was fun.

I love Destin, Florida. It is also in northern Florida but on the opposite side of St. Augustine. It is between Pensacola and Panama City, right outside of Fort Walton Beach. It is absolutely beautiful!

Hyatt Coconut Point is a wonderful place. It is located in Bonita Springs and not too far from Naples and Ft. Myers. They have at least 3 pools, a spa, and a ferry type boat that takes you to their own private beach. It is somewhat secluded, but restaurants and shopping are just 5 mintues away. I don't think it's even 5 yrs old and it's a gorgeous place.

I live in Pinellas, Sarasota, Siesta Key, favorite, Naples is great, especially all are off season rates. Sanibel Island, Captiva, wonderful. Another favorite, Lovers Key, Estero. Head down there any chance I get.

Try Sanibel Island. They have nice motels on the beach. We stayed at Holiday Inn, they had the Rainforest restaurant next door. Very nice.

Save Save Save Save and do 4 days in NY City. You will have the time of your life. Make all arrangements and buy all tickets online first though or you won't be able to do most things.
