When do you start to take Lamas Classes? I'm 18 weeks today. I found out yesterday that we are expecting a boy. They told me that soon to take the classes But when?

Lamaze breathing causes you to tense up your mouth. Tense mouth = tense vagina (At least that is what I was taught). I would try a different class. Bradely or Birthing from Within.

Lamaze is just one school of thought.
There's also The Bradley Method, Alexander, etc.
There's also the general childbirth classes offered by hospital that teach a little bit of everything.

I would wait until 28 weeks or 30 weeks to start the classes.

Contact your local hospitals to see when they offer classes. They will probably have recommendations and guidelines as to when to take the classes. Based on my own experience, I'd say wait a while (like 'til you're 25 weeks or so), because you tend to forget what you've learned. BTW, the breathing techniques worked great for me for a while, but life got much better after the epidural. Good luck!

Never, those classes are bogus. Just follow instructions during delivery and you'll be fine.

you can take them any time, but you have to sign up for them, so i would do that asap even if you dont take them for awhile, because they fill up fast.
