1995 Nissan Maxima SE (manual) ran 6.6 0-60 and 15.2 in the 1/4 mile

sorry didn't have the 94 but if he has the SE the HP and TQ of the two models is close if he doesn't have the SE then he would probably fun High 15's low 16's which would still be faster.

1993 Honda Civic Del Sol Si ran- 0-60 8.8 and 16.8 in the 1/4 mile
1994 Honda Civic Del Sol VTEC ran- 0-60 and 7.4 15.8 in the 1/4 mile

So with your Del Sol non SI or VTEC your going to run low to mid 17's.

Del Sol 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine 102 HP 98 Torque stock

Maxima 3.0-liter V6 engine 160 HP 182 TQ on the SOHC non SE and 190 HP 190 TQ for the DOHC SE model stock.

So with out more mods then just your intake (may give you 5+ HP more then stock) he will take you sorry but the Del Sol wasn't the fastest Honda and with out VTEC and bigger engine it's even worse. Even though he weighs 3129 and your Del Sol only weighs 2301 his power more then makes up for it with the V6 Torque and 60 HP.

I have a Honda S2000, and before that I owned 2 Accords. I am a Honda guy if you can say that. In fact, I've driven my friend's Del Sol and been inside my friend's 94 or 95 Maxima. Maxima will whoop the Del Sol's rear bumper!

Sorry to tell you but if both cars run half way decent the Nissan Maxima for sure.

P.S. I am a die hard integra fan / owner / modifier

Now if you add a little 40 shot of nos. The deal is done Del Sol all the way!

mr. owner of 8 honda's

the Del Sol is actually the successor to the Honda CR-X, based on the civic platform. and the Insight is a hibrid car, thats different class of the del sol. do some more research cuz its funny how u said the insight is the replacement car of the CRX.

as for the del sol vs the maxima. u'll lose because ur car only got 106 hp top

Maxima would spank your doors.

For one, you are a 4 banger and he is most likely a 6. Next you are around 90 hp (as my CRX was only 87 hp) and that maxima is at least 140hp.

And last....get a new car....you do realize the Del Sol was designed and marketed to women, right? It is not a sports car, it is not a mans car and it is a wimps car to try and speed up.

If it such a great car...why is it gone? The CRX is still around....its the Insight. The Accord is still around...the Civic is still around. Del Sol is the shortest lived Honda...and for many reasons.

if its a DOHC maxima then Nissan all the way

Your buddys Maxima would win easy. Better start saving for a turbo or nos.

Nissan has twice the engine size (1.5 vs. 3.), it is somewhat heavier though. I think nissan will win if it does not break down. Which is unlikely.
