Most people seem to think it will go over $2 to £1. Will it and where will it go from there?

the pound has remained steadily around 1.85 - 1.95 to the dollar for the past two years, so it may be safe to assume that it will remain this way for another year.

Thats like asking if anyone has next weeks lottery numbers!

You can use past rates as an indicator but anything could happen - just look at the effect of 9/11 on the value of the $

This year will be a quite year as far as currency goes. The $ will drop ever so slightly, but there will be minimal changes.

As to next year - ask me again in November this year - it all depends on the amount of foreign currency that the US is spending, coupled with their foreign relations.

all I know is that at the present moment, the pound is stronger than the dollar, but who knows what will happen, the Euro could become stronger than either of these two currencies. it's all down to the stock markets.
