THE Amazon River is in northern/eastern South America.
It is a tremendous river, discharging an INCREDIBLE amount of water into the ocean.
Tributaries drain the Peruvian Andes and other mountains to the west. Many tributaries. Lost of places to get lost, mosquitoes, hosts of animals, fish, insects, even fresh water porpoises.
So big many people went in to explore and were never seen again.
The mouth of the Amazon is in Venezuela, I think.
But this subject is extremely interesting. You should Google it. I would recommend googling AMAZON+PHOTOS just like that.
Teddy Roosevelt almost died there, I think after being President.
Many tropical diseases, especially for non-native people touring through.
HOT.....HUMID......SWELTERING.
Rio ***** also related I think. But you need to check out my Google suggestion.
Spectacular pictures in the offing.

Very interesting river.
The Napo River starts in the "Napo" section of Ecuador and continues into the "Loreto" section of Peru.
The Maranon River starts in the "Amazonas" section of Peru and continues into the "Loreto" section of Peru.
The Napo and Maranon Rivers merge in "Loreto" section of Peru to become the Amazon River. The Amazon River continues eastward through Brazil all the way to Ilha de Marajo. The Amazon River travels more than 1600 miles. Manaus, Brazil, is the largest city on the Amazon River, and that city is at least 700 miles from the end of the river at Ilha de Marajo.

Have you never used an atlas? In the back of an atlas there's always a section called a gazeteer. It give place names, lattitude and longtitue of the place, and the page number within the atlas.
Now. you've learned how to use an atlas, so do so...

Why don't you get an atlas and look in the index?
The other suggestion is to google "amazon river" and see what you can find out.
