I am sure it is not a good idea since you are not suppose to tan when you are pregnant. When you are ttc your life is already changing. Personally, I quit drinking and smoking, so I probably wouldn't have tanned either. Just something to think about.

During pregnancy, special precautions are suggested when you expose yourself to the sun or use tanning beds. But the safest option is to avoid tanning -- even with self-tanning lotions -- altogether.
During, first trimester or first three months of pregnancy, raising the body's temperature (basal temperature), overheating or hyperthemia, in hot tub, saunas or tanning beds, increase risk of spinal malformation in the fetus. Also, Ultraviolet rays will diminish folic acid level. Reducing amount folic acid level causes neural tube defects in the fetus, such as spinal bifida.
Despite advisory concerns, pregnant women should use a tanning bed for short sessions. Drink plenty of fluids, preventing dehydration. Make sure there is adequate ventilation. After first trimester, pregnant women exposure to tanning beds, recommended maximum time ten - fifteen minute sessions, lying on side or standing up, preventing restricted blood flow.

I tanned all the time til I found out I was pregant, in fact I was at the beach in the sun for 5 days right before I found out . On the trip I drank and also got in a jacuzzi which are all bad for you, but as long as you quit once you find out you are OK. I was 3-4 weeks along when I found out I was pregant....good luck

I wouldn't worry about it too much many women drink excessively then find out they are in the early stages of pregnanicy. If you feel that you want to become pg then I would take all necessary measures to safeguard that baby especaily the first trimester. Better safe than sorry!~ good luck

I'm not sure that tanning has any effect on your unborn child..don't women who live close to the equator conceive? Yeah, like rabbits.
If you're concerned, ask your doctor.

I don't think so, but if you think that you are pregnant then I would quit just in case, but I don't think that it would affect you ability to get pregnant.
