What happens if you put this side up face down while popping microwave popcorn?

the popcorn wont pop right in my chemistry class last year my teacher was telling us about it in one side of the bag there is something that reflects the heat back into the bag onto the popcorn and if its in the microwave the wrong way it cant do that

it won't pop properly
if you look at the bag after popping the corn you will see the part that is supposed to be down is darker and heavier. there is some materiial in that side only that gathers the heat to pop the corn
microwaves heat corn on the way to this material and this material reflects heat back up to cook as well

put it in the other way it will screen the microwaves

It probably won't pop right since the grey popping part will be on the top side- maybe only the top popcorn will pop. Try it..

I accidentally did that one night while trying to make popcorn for my friends and I when we were drunk. LOL All that happened to our bag was it didn't inflate and pop the corn, it just burned it.
