I have to have a dye test done on monday to check my ovaries and make sure that my fallopian tubes are open. I have had a few people tell me that they got pregnant after months and years of trying shortly after this test. Has this happened to you or anyone that you know?

I just saw a fertility specialist in December because I had been ttc on Clomid for 5 months (every month I had ovulated). We discussed my past history. He suggested an hsg. I explained I already had one the month before I conceived my daughter and my tubes were not blocked. I had also had a laparoscopy at the same time, which my OB discovered I had a mild case of endometriosis and removed it immediately. The fertility specialist told me that many women get pregnant with endometriosis, so that might not have been my problem conceiving the first time. He explained that an hsg can be very therapeutic - even if your tubes are not blocked. He said he had several patients that got pregnant immediately after having one. Fortunately I conceived in December, so I didn't have to go through further testing. I hope this works for you. My prayers are with you.

I did not get pregnant after mine. But it can happen because the dye can clean out anything in the tube. I was told it was a painful procedure but I did NOT think it was. So just relax and try not to worry! Good Luck!

I had my HSG (dye test) done in July and got pg in Sept. Unfortunantly mine ended in miscarriage but my RE said he sees quite a few pregnancies in the 4-6months after the hsg.
