Even when I know the answer or a good come back, I freeze-up, I stumble over my words or just get a blank brain. It really worries me. I am not intimidated by most people, I am outspoken and I can a handle myself well in stressfull situations. Except these two get me to loose my cool.

Do the two possess a repertoire of characteristics that are representative of prior authoritative or authoritative and close relationship figures in your life that you were not free to disagree with or free to experience communication that was your own real self? Are you similarly afraid to lose your relationship with the two?

It could be any combination of factors. Perhaps there is transference going on with a male figure in your early childhood such as father that effects how you react? It's tough to say. If it impedes your hapiness and productivity, I highly recommend seeing a therapist to help with the issue.

It sounds like these are two people you are worried about keeping a good impression with. You're so worried about saying the wrong thing.....you do. Just RELAX. Even if you do say something off the wall...just pass it off grinning and say what you need to say

same problem with me. i am usually pretty good with people, but my orchestra conductor (who is at least a head shorter than me) seems to make me mess up and i have nightmares about him chasing me with an over-sized orchestra baton... hope you find an answer!

nervousness maybe? Your boyfriend definitely shouldn't make your nervous though. You just have to remember they are no better than you - you are equals.
