they are new borns and very tiny. i am doing a project in my Ecology class breeding Betta's...we have been successful in getting them to breed but we don't know exactly what the babies eat. my theory is they will just eat organisms in the water or the alge till they are big enough for us to feed micro worms or micro eels that we have. if you know a link to a reliable article that would be a great help too. THANKS!!!

The best starting food for newly hatched bettas are ;rotifers, nauplii of cyclops, microworms, some liquifry fish food for egglayers and brine shrimp. Brine shrimp kits are easily purchased at petstores so thats probably the best way to go. The young grow very fast so they'll be able to upgrade to larger foods pretty fast.

This site has basically eveything you want to know from purchase to raising fry, in your case just skip down to the bottom of the page since they've already bred.

this is probably not the BEST food for them, but it's the easiest: when i feed my baby guppies, i mash up some flake food until it's a very fine powder. they eat it just fine... and grow up to be happy guppies.... it should work just as well with bettas. congrats on your fishy babies!!
