Although it is true that all great empires collapse, there is no reason to necessarily attribute that collapse to Bush, or even think that it is on the immediate horizon at all. We survived the Civil War, corruption in the Reconstruction period, the Great Depression, Vietnam, and even Richard Nixon. I don't condone President Bush by any means, but what is so special about him compared to these other events? We've recovered from worse. People are already beginning to see Bush for what he really is. What makes you think we can't recover?
That is not to say we will, but I just don't see any historical evidence that we are on the decline quite yet. It'll happen one day. I am just not convinced it is right now.

You on the left never cease to amaze me!
From what do we need to recover? Our economy is doing pretty good. Unemployment has never been lower on a consistent basis. The stock market at record breaking highs. Why are you so down all the time? doom and gloom the sky is falling! Please one of you give me some specific things that have happened to you personally that Bush caused that has caused havic in your little life. I think the truth is you are a bunch of spoiled brats who are never happy and have to invent problems in your minds because you beieve if your party is not in power things just can't be good, no matter how good they are lol. You have listened to the liberals in power of the democratic party for so long and believe what they tell you without checking out facts yourselves. They don't like our country as it is they want America to become a 3rd world nation they are socialists who believe everyone should be equal. Well all but them they are the leaders and deserve an exalted status. They are embarassed by our being a super power. So I guess from your point of view you are right.... we were on the road to recession when Bush took over and brought us out by tax cuts but the evil rich people got richer even though they pay most of our tax burden, and we still have poor people and it's just not fair!! So if to you recovery means to get back on the road to being a 3rd world country yes bush delayed that goal, but think positivley (if you can) if this country elects a Hillary or Obama we will be right back on that road as soon as they stagnate the economy with higher taxes and more stupid regulation and we cut and run from the war on terror. You think health care is expensive now? Just wait and see how much it costs when they make it free!! lol

The next President is going to have hard time trying to straighten
out what Bush has destroyed. That is reason I say put Hillary in office, Bill will be there. All the other countries love Bill Clinton, he can get the other countries to come back to America and along with Hillary as President and I hope Obama as Vice President they can get one third straighten out in 2 years. It is going to be a complete mess , what a great nothing retard turned out to be.

This country survived Jimmy Carter. We are certainly better off with Bush than the ulternitives provided in either Gore or Kerry. We have had very few great presidents but our system provides the ability to make it through even the worst of them

You have been hoodwinked by the likes of Hanoi Jane and KGB Ted.
Numerous uncovered documents suggest that Ted Kennedy was a "collaborationist" with the Soviets during our Cold War.

Recovery is possible, but it will be difficult.
Of course it is also possible that recovery efforts will fail, the nation will crumple, and the empire will fall.
I guess we'll see - it's hard to predict.
