i have my ideas as to why this happens. but i would love to be 100% sure in gut feeling

Simple. The more active a military force is - such as in a time of war - the more chance there is for military law to be violated. When that happens, the military takes immediate action.

Which is more than most civilian communities do, I might add.

Because the Media is keeping their eye on the soldiers now...trust me just as many soldiers were getting Court Marshaled during the peace time Army as they are now during war time...you have to remember soldiers killing "innocent" Iraqis help push the Liberal agenda of having the US pull out of Iraq...before it was not news...

Because there is so much media coverage these days and if one GI gets filmed even picking his nose, he'll get punished, it's political correctness causing this. If everyone would mind their own damn business you wouldn't see this happening
